Golden Christmas

Usually, around the holidays, I come up with ideas for Christmas decorations. Last year I said to actually make some: I chose to make a set of paper globes from "origami kusudama" elements. To make an origami flower I needed 5 "petals" and for a whole globe 12 flowers. After an easy calculation I came to the conclusion that for all 4 globes I needed ... no more, no less ... than 240 petals. I knew it would take some time ... so I stopped thinking and got to work.

I used:
- gift wrapping paper
- sissors
- glue
- hemp string

After I cut the base for all the elements (6x6cm squares), I folded each one following the steps above. After working a few evenings in a row (I already knew how to make the petals with my eyes closed), I managed to get all 4 ready before Christmas Eve.

You can see the final result below. All the hard work paid off. I was very happy when I hung them in my Christmas tree. :D
